| Get ready for eerie, creepy and fun sounds! |
Halloween is a perfect time to learn more about dynamics (soft and loud sounds, crescendos, decrescendos (gradually getting louder/softer) , staccato, "hits" on the piano, and improvising on minor keys.
We'll learn a fun lick from Addams Family Tune, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6QzbvH-ZNo. We'll take that lick and play it in several keys. This tune is a fun way to learn about the first five-finger notes of the major keys. We will play the Addams Family tune, along with the snapping fingers, blowing horns, etc., at our October group class meeting, Monday, October 28, 6 p.m. All piano students can dress up!
Here is our group class picture from September. The students played well, and had beautiful tone. Thanks, Jennifer Stevens, for taking the picture! In November we'll start preparing Thanksgiving and Christmas tunes and some of America's beloved hymns. Happy practicing!
